for a CI in my laby ear! Very excited. I will still have my "good" ear which does still fluctuate a bit. I am bilateral, with about 60-80% hearing loss in my "good"ear. I have to call tomorrow to schedule the surgery. Hopefully it will happen in the next month or two. Dr. Rauch at Mass Eye and Ear will be doing the surgery. He has only peformed 3 other CI on a laby ear. Guess I'm unique! :-\ Keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I continue on this journey. I don't like surgery Thanks, Patti
Good for you!! I am scheduling a consult with Dr. Rauch regarding a laby. I am really happy for you. Please keep us posted. The very best of luck to you.
Good luck to you. I might suggest you ask people on this site how the operation worked for them and what they went through during recovery time. It doesn't mean it'll happen to you but it's good to know all the actual experiences. I'm sure your Doctor will walk you through it too. Yay! I'm really hoping for the best for you. Anything to get permanent or even partial relief from this bugger is wonderful
What awesome news!! I had my surgery six months ago and it has changed my life. Have you looked into which manufacturer your going to go with?? I went with Advanced Bionics and love it. They just came out with a fully swimmable processor called the Neptune. Here is a link if you want to check it out!! Also if ever have any questions feel free to email me!! I'm a dizzy teacher, too. Bless you! I pray that this procedure will make your life 500 percent better!
