xanax under tongue

    Personally I wouldn't try it. Nor with Valium or anything that wasn't prescribed to be taken that way. Why? Because I once was extrememly nauseous but in a meeting that I could not leave, so I chewed a promethazine (phenegran) because I couldn't swallow it. My throat got numb and started to swell. Luckily it didn't close all the way before it started to abate. But that scared me enough to never try disolving or chewing any meds that are meant to be swallowed whole :eek:

    As I'm sure you got from the other posts so far -
    The thing is, YES a lot of drugs will absorb faster if placed under the tongue. HOWEVER, that may not be a good thing! Depending on how the pills are made, it may cause other problems, therefore - I would not try it unless I were reasonably sure of what the results would be. And the best most reliable way to get that type of information is from either a pharmacists or a doctor.
