Dizzybabe I love being called "Mommy"

Ok I asked the same question in another thread because I was to clueless ??? on posting a new thread. I get so lazy with reading on this computer sometimes. Not to mention my eyes are whack.
Anywho, I thought it would be a good idea to see what is everyone's:

    age-33
    ethnicity-black
    gender-female
    diagnosis-MAV-BPPV

Sort of like an idea on what and who's coping with what. For example, I read that Caucasians are more prone to getting meniere's. Is that true? And its an older person disorder. Well that isn't true. I have met some as young as 18 suffering with balance disorders.

I remember from years ago on the forum that we could not identify these diseases affecting white, black or otherwise in any discernible pattern.
62, white, male, Meniere's and suspect MAV. Have had the dx almost twenty years with some symptoms for twice that long.

The only statistic I saw was that for some reason, Swedes seem to have it a little less than the rest of the world....must be the long cold snowy nights

Maybe if we could find out what else Swedes have less of we could nail this down.

I am 60 years old, Female, white.

I have had this disease since 19 years old. but i have had dizzy speels since I was age 7 years old. Was not confirmed as Meniere's by 2 ENT doctors at Wake Medical Ceter in aug. 2006. My ENT in 1993 did not hink it then even with the 2 MRI tests, and all of the other tests at NYC EYE AND EAR.

What is "white" I have always wondered? For that matter what is "black" ? Europe and Africa are big places with many cultures and genetic contributions. And most of us really only know our skin tone and the culture of our immediate family. We don't actually know all the contributors to our genetic pool. Tests have show that the group people identify with is not necessarily the group from which they draw many of their genes so for medical research purposes it's a very shaky concept.
