~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Understanding Friend I think I need a friend today to lend a helping hand Just sit and have a chat with me and help me understand No need to do my chores for me just visit for awhile I’m sure at times you must feel as if I was a child You see I cannot hear to well for me it’s noise not words I strain to hear the words you speak but at times no words are heard Most the time I pray that you think I heard you well You never know how hard it is for my face it never tells I watch your lips as you speak and pray that I can read In hopes that I will understand what’s said before you leave Sometimes I need a friend to chat and help me make believe That my hearing is still normal but it’s myself that I deceive I use to hear the same as you every word you had to say But then one day the hearing fades and the noise was hear to stay It makes for a different world when it’s hard for you to hear After all the years of hearing now at times you have such fear Your world will never be the same your feelings are often shown But by the Grace of God you know you’ll never walk alone Surrounded by your loved ones and understanding friends Can help you find a way in life so the pain you feel can end.
