earshurt posted: "Another thing I know is that within roughly two years time the herbal supply in the U.S. will have already gone, or will be swiftly heading to the same position Europe just arrived at in the last few days. All herbal supplements will be pulled from the shelves within four months in Europe. The U.S. has just earmarked a couple of hundred million dollars to study the effectiveness of herbal products in the U.S. too. As just happened in Europe they will most likely be found harmful and will be immediately regulated and most likely pulled from the shelves. "

What are your sources? Where is the factual data? "Most likely" is another generalization and a scare tactic of which you have used frequently in your posts. You realize that all of the curries and many blended spices and herbs would be gone from the market? That is just silly. Why do you post this stuff? I think you are actually pushing some product. Your wild dispensing of nonsensical information is a harmful thing in my opinion. If you cannot truly help then pls stop with this inane posting. We don't need a self-appointed health expert egomaniac who does not express himself clearly and who has some sort of peculiar fixated agenda.
Don't sent me any more PMs. thank you.

It is not true that ALL herbal supplements will be pulled in Europe. What IS true is that several hundred will be pulled and most are from China (some have caused serious side effects):

It is also true that they can still be prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner.

I'm still checking to see if this affects Vits and Mins.

cIf you buy now, they will DOUBLE your product order and throw in a free Snuggie decorated with pistures of turmeric leaves. That's usually a $400 value, but you get it free with your order of turmeric for $19.99!

I love the stuff, been eating it in blends and curries for years. Cayenne as well. Spice is good. "Damn fine" is right.

So glad you are back Paul... we need more people like you. Thank you. I too think this is a sales pitch to make people rush out and order whatever EH is selling. Buyer beware.

Thank you CGR... this is the kind of factual information we need to offset the claims made here on the forum. I am all for making sure the stuff we ingest is safe.

Does this mean that one won't be able to buy supplements (like vitamin C, lysine, etc.) unless they are prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner???

thanks cgr for clearing this info up with facts.

report him. he's fishing for info or an ally. i'm sure i've been reported as well as he wishes for my banishment very badly because he knows i know the truth. i'll gladly take my lumps from ray as i stand by my word. i'm tired of him and whatever marketing establishment he is *allegedly* ;) working for preying on the sick. meanwhile he's at home popping his viagra and well, you know...

***disclaimer-i am not discouraging anyone from doing their own research into turmeric and its possible curative properties and giving it a try. i sincerely hope it works.***

Vitamins are not herbs. EH likes to exaggerate.

Actually, I was paying more attention to the link you posted than to EH. His posts take too long to read.

But that link you posted--I do find that alarming. How would something like Lysine be categorized? It's not a vitamin. And what about citrus bioflavonoids?

Lysine is an amino acid, so not considered part of the herbal family.

Vitamin shoppe categorizes each vms, so you can always check their to see if something is an herb or not.

Bioflavinoids come from citrus. I doubt they are going to ban lemons anytime soon :)

The reason why the EU took action against the herbal products is bc they were causing serious health problems. Personally i would like our govt to more proactive about screening chinese toys, baby formula and herbs. Too any recent cases of toxins. Youd think that EH being the big toxin hater that he is would want more action to protect us. He wants more control of big pharma but less control of chinese herbs. :-\

Good point. And remember Oprah ended up being sued for pointing out problems with the meat industry in the US?

Steroids and antibiotics in food. Is that why the eighth grader living next door has a full beard and the sophmore girl in high school looks like she is 25.

we are importing foodstuffs from China as well. I avoid it completely. It's insane actually.

She didn't get sued for pointing out problems. She got sued for telling people they were crazy if they kept eating red meat because of the mad cow scare in Europe. Sales plummeted, and that's what she was sued for.

It didn't do anything at all to change the meat industry, actually. The general trend towards organics and hormone-free foods was already well under way.

Too many hungry people and not enough food. Can't produce it fast enough. Even fruits and veggies are loaded with chemicals.
