As Ray has said in the past, posters on this forum do a good job of self-moderation.

Based on that statement I see no need for anyone to be banned.

Uhh, would that be Pinky and The Brain? Never mind me, I'm just the comedy relief in the thread.

And it's Mastercard, not Mastercharge. I know, a small detail, it changed a long time ago. Little things like that I notice for some reason. ;D

After 15 months of relief I had a set back. Go to my NUCCA doc monthly to keep straight. Well after my dads passing have been helping my mom trim bushes, mulch...basically over did it all. I started having vertigo episodes. Back to NUCCA one a week to get back on track. Two weeks out of limbo but starting to feel much better! I honestly believe he has made my life so much better and will continue to do NUCCA! Yesterday went for a visit and now having some drainage...that's a good sign!

    What kind of drainage?

Hank, It's just a sinus drainage. For me that's a good sign. That's what I experienced when I first started seeing NUCCA. I feel pretty good today. Sore from the adjustments. Amazing how just working on the neck area can make you sore. I am up for anything that makes me feel stable and functional! Whaooo!
I will keep you all posted!

There seems to be so many ways to lesson the sysptoms of the beast. I'm so glad that people have found that chiropractic means helps them get to some type of normal life.

I do have a question Hank, why did you ask debin about the type of drainage? What would the difference be, if any?

I just wanted a clarification on that. It could have been something draining from the ears, I suppose. Some folks have reported that before.

But that it was sinus drainage begs the question, "Why?" I can think of two possibilities. There may be more.

First, when misaligned, the first vertebra can work to mechanically close off the Eustachian tubes, which when open are a vehicle for sinus fluids to drain from the middle ear area. If those tubes are closed off, sinus fluids easily back up. Young children are frequent sufferers of ear infections. Many times those infections can be traced to pinched off Eustachian tubes. Upper cervical chiropractic has shown to be an effective treatment to open up these tubes, allowing the sinuses to drain, and decreasing ear infections in children. But the same mechanical action can occur in adults.

Second, and I only speculate here, there may be a release of mucous in the sinuses triggered by the nervous system, sort of a cleansing action, when the nerve tracts in the brain stem are freed to communicate. I don't know. But something accounts for Debin's repeated experience, which is the same phenomenon that many others report after receiving UC chiropractic treatments.

I read these experiences just like you do, just like anyone does, and I ask, "why?" I believe that is a healthy question to ask when reading the experiences of others, and trying to understand our own experiences.

Just an update...my NUCCA doc wants me back weekly until I am vertigo free for two weeks then will taper off and go once a month. I think I have been vertigo free for 12 days now.
I found this video on you tube.I'm not sure who the woman is but tells her challenges of doctors along her way until she found NUCCA.

Amen, Sisters! This lady's story is very similar to many who have found relief of their Meniere's symptoms by resolving the misalignments in their upper cervical spine. Thanks, Debin, for placing that video for us to watch.

debin, what medications are you taking, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh and Hank, I asked about the drainage because sometimes my nose drains for no apparent reason at all. I don't feel a difference in the ear pressure so I'm sure it's nothing but just wanted to through that little tid bit your way...

Holly, I take Traim/HCTZ 37.5/25 MIL a day(waterpill) and now that Meclizine is over the counter have Bonine on hand(chewable). If needed also have 2 MG of Diazepam when needed. I try to use the Diazepam if I feel off balance or go out in our boat. I used alot of my Diazepam last month when I was off. I just called my ENT and waiting for them to call back to see if I have to go in just to get a refill. He wants to re-check my hearing this fall. I am going to ask what everyone is taking or anything new on the horizon. My NUCCA doc has me taking B Complex twice daily for circulation in the ear. My NUCCA doc has been my lifesavor! It would be interesting to see what drugs people are on!

I have so many neck issues, I am sure thats why I am being bombarded with Meniere episodes again after 9 years of nothing. I thought of going to a chiropractor, but due to nerve damage in BOTH upper extremities, I am unable to lie on the table, so he would have to adjust me sitting in a chair...I don't know if they can do that. I finally have Medicare at age 55, so I am seeing a specialist Sept 8th. after basically "training" every doctor I have seen except a few specialists in the 80'd....I just had a vertigo attack July 26th, lasted 3 days which is pretty good(Vertigo Heel) I call them "functioning vertigo attacks" since i can walk around & do stuff. Yesterday I walked my 10 miles, playef with my new Nikon, made phone calls, did some computer work...felt great then around 5pm, it hit me, and this one is BAD!!!!! Haven't slept all night, really sick to my stomach, I feel flu like, my head hurts and it feels like it weighs 100 lbs.....Its very unusual for me to get these attacks in the summer. Personally I think its Meneires & BBPV....

buffee, it sounds like you're in pain most of the time. I'm so sorry to read that. Hope Hank caan help with some answers as to whether or not they can do the manipulations while sitting. Sounds like you pushed it a little when you did all the stuff you did of the ten mile walk. You might have used your eyes so much for balance that you set off a really bad attack. Hope you're feeling better soon. It the specialist an ear doctor like an Otolaryntologist or regular ENT? How about the chriopractor, does he specialize in NUCCA treatments? I know Hank can tell you the difference and why you should see the NUCCA specialist instead of just a regular chiropractor.

debin, so the meds you take are a back up for the NUCCA treatments which sound like they help the best? It's not the NUCCA doctor doing the precriptions but your ear doctor you have(which kind are you seeing anyway?) for the meniere's/BBPV symptoms?

I was a body builder prior to my work injury in 2004, so I have always been an athlete. I walk 19 miles EVERYDAY..if it was that, it might have been because it was a supper windy day, I need to put cotton in my years. I just left a message for Dr. Pete(the only chiorpracter I ever trusted) so I will see what he has to say. I do have alot of pain in my neck..when I had my work injury I broke BOTH hands, Both wrists, my left thumb and tore the bicep of my left shoulder off of the muscle....so 90% of my pain is nerve pain. Its very unusual for me to have vertigo in the summer, since 2009 its only been in fall & winter. Up until sept 2009, not ONE attack since 12/2000. I went thru quite a ordeal with my mom May of 2009(took my mom in for a simple outpatient surgery & they brain damaged her & shes on a vent) I kind of thought maybe from dealing with that, thats what brought the vertigo back. I am anxious to see the specialist, ebcause I haven't seen one since 1985, and alot has transpired since then. I have had Menieres since 1978, so I just consider it to be part of my life......at least with these atttacks I can clean the catbox, go get the mail and walk around, unlike the ones in 1980's where it lasted 2 months, I was vomiting & had to have supervision around the clock. so I am greatful for that
