I never liked pot but if it stops the dizzies i would give it try. In most states i don`t think they give you much trouble over a small amount. Now if seadog has a pound or two laying around he may have found that work from home gig.

We test for it here. I could never put my family, children, employees and customers through the embarrassment if I tried it and got caught or ratted out.

Michael Phelps life was almost ruined but now he is a subway spokesman.

Wow I just made the connection go to Subway for your munchies. Man those marketing guys at subway are geniuses.

I'm in the process of applying for a license here in Canada. Both my specialists - neurotologist and psychiatrist are supporting my request. My neurotologist said he used to be cynical regarding medical marijuana and MM a couple of years ago but he has since had a couple of patients (MM) who he feels are most definitely helped by it.

    Thank you.

The only issue I'm running into is fear amongst the doctors who actually do the signing. Apparently the government is investigating all doctors in Canada who provide licences or who prescribe Oxycontin. According to my hubby's pain specialist (he has a licence for fibro, arthritis, and chronic pain syndrome), these politicians are actually trying to make doctors responsible for what a patient does with their supply of medication. I think this is ridiculous - a doctor should absolutely use they're best judgement in prescribing controlled substances, but what's done by the patient at home is out of the doctor's control....that's where the police should be stepping in. I know Oxycontin has become a horrible mess here in Canada (especially on the east coast from what I've learned through family) but scaring doctors is not the way to do it.

My G.P. is still struggling with the responsibility and potential pressure (this would be the first licence she granted in her 30 year career). My psychiatrist would most definitely be willing to help me (he's had me on synthetic marijuana - Cesamet for a while now). But the thing is, the medication addresses more than one condition: the vestibular symptoms, nausea, but also depression and anxiety. That's why I think it's important that my G.P. be the one to fill out the paperwork, with the support of both my specialists.

Hopefully she will be willing to take a stand on my case - and hopefully the politicians will find another way to try and control the issue of what a patient does. Licenses come with very clear regulations, including the possibility of impromtu searches. Licensees are told how much they can grow and must do so in a discreet manner. Why drag the doctors into this....

Sorry, off my soap box now. Yes Pardonme, I sure will let everyone know how it goes.

Yes, I've provided that release form to my doctor already for her consideration. I'm hoping it helps.

California is heating up to make it legal for everyone today. I find it quite sad that a drug that is less harmful than alcohol has been stigmatized and outright lied about. I know two people with MS who it helps immensely and one with cancer. I've never heard of anyone dying from an overdose of marijuana. Any drug can be abused, alcohol is probably the worst. You can eat pot instead of smoke it (for you anti-smoking types). Most states do not give you much trouble about it but the people that need it have trouble finding it or have to go into risky situations to get it. Where's all the homeopaths now? Oh and another thing the people that I know that use pot for medical reasons smoke 1 or 2 hits usually before bed. I think they should be arrested and put in jail for 5 years so they can let out more rapist and murders after they serve 2 years. What a sad comment on our goverment.

Well they are only considering it because they can make a billion a year taxing it.

Luckily licensed Canadians no longer have to buy from the government - there are designated marijuana farms showing up now. You provide your license number and they provide with whatever you want (likely same price as government grown). Licensees are also allowed to grow it themselves (must indicate inside or out and abide by strick regulations), or they can designate another person to grow it for them.

    Good for you Amethyst!

I was a legal medical user for a bit over 2 years, and in that time I would venture that due ONLY to the med. cannabis I did not suffer the effects of dozens of miserable vertigo attacks, and stopped a dozen more after they had got started but I was not around my meds at the time.

FWIW, I found over time that the Indica's were far better than the Sativa's for stopping an attack mid-stream. Still, be sure when you go to the legal supplier that you get a quarter (or better) of more than one strain so you have enough to really be able to gauge the benefit from each type.

BTW, I stopped using MMJ in late Jan. To me, it was a medicine that was incredibly helpful while I was sick, but, since the Laby I no longer have a need for it. Treat it like a medication and use as you need it, but when ya don't need it any longer it's time to stop. (At least that's how I managed it).

All the best to you, and once you get your MMJ cert. let us know.
