Scale from 1 -10 (10 being the worst)

 

10. Floored; bed-ridden; can't lift head, can't eat, can't drink; throwing up; have to crawl on the floor to bathroom; very depressed; can't sleep because spins are too bad; headaches; won't talk to anyone; very withdrawn and dejected; can't tell up from down; ears are so full they feel like bursting; loud ringing and buzzing; can't hear anything; have panic attacks easily; may need to go to hospital.

 

9. Still bed-ridden, can begin to watch tv, maybe eat crackers and drink water; still depressed; still can't sleep; might talk to someone on phone; dozzomess is still very uncomfortable; fullness and buzzing; hard to hear; still dejected and still have panic attacks; are very stressed and feel out of control.

 

8. Can walk around a bit and go outside but not to work; can eat a bit; can do some activities but not much; start to interact with people again; can watch tv ok but can't read or use computer without getting ill; can begin to deal a bit with dizziness; ears still full and buzzing; emotions more under control; quit telling people you are likely dying.

 

7. Able to function for short periods; can go to work but don't like it and feel miserable; still nauseated but can hold down some food; can begin to read and use computer at short intervals; able to talk to friends and family again; dizziness still forefront but can think about other things; can't drive car yet; lots of buzzing but ears not as full.

 

6. Can go to work but still uncomfortable and hard to concentrate; still nauseated and dizzy; interacting with most people; can eat and drink; still wouldn't dare go to shopping mall or movie; can drive a car but probably shouldn't; ears starting to pop "in" and "out"; still stressed out.

 

5. "Tolerable" dizziness but constant; still nauseated but not all the time time; able to go to work and put in 8 hours without feeling too bad; might go to movie or mall where not crowded; can drive car; but still stressed.

 

4. Dizziness is bad but fades in and out; Ears aren't as full and hearing is better except in crowded rooms; would consider going out with friends to a restaurant or pub; can eat most things although still get upset stomach easily; would go play golf and other low-impact activities; feel in control for the first time in a long time.

 

3. Dizziness still around but have more good days than bad; mood is generally happy most of the time; may play sports such as tennis again; less depressed and ears aren't as bad.

 

2. Dizziness comes occasionally when doing certain activities, can work, use computers, read etc. for long periods of time; feel happy and in control.

 

1. (NOT that I can remember but....) in remission, dizziness not much of a problem, can do most all activities, happy, strong, healthy, and in control; Lots of energy and motivation; activie, living and loving life to the fullest - a "Normal" person.
