A Smile is a Curve that straightens out a lot of things
You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul,
all your strength, and with all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.
And love your neighbor as yourself.
Luke 10:27
My name is Jacki and I have Menieres Disease. What is Menieres Disease you ask? Well its a disorder of the inner ear or labyrinth. The most prominent symptoms of this condition include episodes of dizziness or vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss, and tinnitus (noise or ringing in the ear) and pressure in the ear. The cause of Menieres also known as MM (Morbus Menieres) is not known, but it is thought to be triggered by an immune, metabolic, infectious, traumatic, allergic or other injury to the labyrinth. The condition generally starts in one ear, but it may eventually become bilateral in some patients. This disease is differentiated from other causes of dizziness by its classic four symptoms, which were listed above. Medical management of Menieres includes sodium restriction and the avoidance of caffeine and alcohol. Diuretics, antidepressants and vestibular suppressants maybe prescribed or surgery may be considered in severe cases.
Menieres Disease is difficult enough to deal with all alone! There are some great support groups online for those in search of support in coping with this disease. Below are a few links for different support groups that I belong to. We are friendly people who understand exactly what your going through! These lists are open and very informal, so please join us and say hello, or just sit back and read if you like!

**The link for the MenieresDG group gears more to the technical side of this disease, rather than support, but has very good information.

FRIENDS
Our friends are like angels
Who brighten our days
In all kinds of wonderful
magical ways
Their thoughtfulness comes
As a gift from above
And we feel surrounded
By warm, caring love
Like upside down rainbows
Their smiles bring the sun
And they fill ho-hum moments
With laughter and fun
Friends are like angels
Without any wings
Blessing our lives
With the most precious things!
