    tucker The Meniere's DVD Guy!

Just came back from the my ENT two choices:

    1. See a specialist in Minneapolis and have my left shunt redone

2 Check into hospital next weeks for a few days for bed rest and valium drip. Insurance ok this so I choose door number 2. Will probably check in on Monday.

I really don't want surgery again, they never put my ears on straight. I am beginning to look like Mr. Spock.

If it means every 6 months or so in the hospital for a valium fix then that is what I will do.

I take valium at home 5 mgs everyday, I am allowed up to 30mg but only for 3 days at that dosage. Lately I am at 15-20 mg a day and it is not really helping.

I have done the hospital stay before, and it really works well for me, clams that nerve down. But since I moved to Wisconsin, this Dr is a little concerned. Anyway he agreed with the hospital stay. I can't go til next week because he is out of town and wants to monitor me himself.

And you ready for this one??????!!!

My broken wrist hurts like hell, I can't bend it up or down or to the left or the right w/o pain.........so I go see that dr again tomorrow. Just my luck I rebroke it, It doesn't feel right if you know what I mean.

Thanks for all your concerns and thoughts and postings

    One Tired Tuck

Hi Tuck.. thank you for checking in... alot of us thinking of you. Where in Wisconsin do you live if you don't mind my asking? My ENT is in Wisconsin.. but in Milwaukee so I'm thinking you must be in another part.

I think you are making the right decision on going to the hospital to try to calm the nerve down with a valium drip... im sure it's got to be hard to be away from home and all but at least maybe you can get some relief for awhile... how long after they discharge you do you tend to feel "ok"?

Try to hang in there... it's tough.. and I can only imagine how you are feeling being that you are bi-lateral.. i can only thank god that it's unilateral for me at this time.

Best of luck to you.... and prayers.

    Geez...what a year for you!

I know what you mean with the valium...I kept upping my dosage until it got to the point that something had to be done. Anyway this isn't about me!

Sweetie....I feel so bad for you! But, at least you will get your drip and feel better soon!!! Yea!!! This is enough already!!

    HUGS!!!

    Danny,
Sorry to hear about the wrist again!!!
I hope the hospital stay will help with your symptoms. Come back to SC, my ENT also does reconstructive surgery, so my ear that he worked on looks as good as ever. Even my stitches were pretty :)

    Danny-

I'm so sorry you are going through so much. You know it has to be bad when you are actually looking forward to being in the hospital for a break from the symptoms.
Just remember this, I know this has affected your life beyond belief..... but in what you have suffered-- you have been able to educate others and give a better understanding about this horrible affliction. It could never be the purpose someone wishes for in life-- but my friend, you are making a HUGE difference for others.

Lots of love to you and healing thoughts
    Di

Sorry to hear all this Danny. Hey if the drip helps I'm for it. Surgery just isn't in my line of vision at this time. And hopefully the wrist is OK. As an x-ray tech I wish I could x-ray it for you.

Take care. You are a very special person!
