That one alone could hold me for a few days - excellent! (but don't make us wait, please? You can always argue with Sarita somewhere along the way)

    Open minds, like open mouths
    were made to close
    around
    something solid

    Whoa! isn't that so true!

    The fear of the Lord
    is the beginining
    of wisdom

I think this is from the bible, I think it's in Psalms.

Psalms and Proverbs both, as it turns out. I did not know that. Thanks, Karen.

    The unrest of
    this weary world
    is its
    unvoiced cry for God.

Yes, that gives meaning to worldly tribulation. Everything under God's Heaven has meaning, even unrest. Thanks, Big S. That one helped me alot.

    The fear of people
    makes a coward
    the fear of God

    use things

Hank I just came across this as I am not on the site very often. What a wonderful way to remember your friend. He must have been a very special person with lots of insight to write these down and keep them. They are so true.

    The world has forgotten
    in its concern
    with left and right
    that there is also
    an above and a below

    Boy, politics made simple.

I have read them all and enjoyed them very much. #1 is my favorite:

    In this World
    There Are Givers and Takers
    The Takers Eat Better
    The Givers Sleep Better."

Thanks for the post Hank and what a great way to honor a special lifelong friend.
