That one touched something deep inside me. I have a lot of broken pieces. Maybe God can put me back together again, not unlike poor ol Humpty Dumpty that sat on a wall?

    The validity of faith
    is determined
    not by its volume
    but by its
    object

Hank, I believe this is my favorite thread of all time. I've been reminded that the Lord is the source of my strength, my rock, my salvation, my purpose, and my friend. Keep them coming.

Thank you, Kim. If I remember correctly, except for a failed cell phone battery, you woud have probably met Spence. He would have liked you, and you him, very much.

    Never let failure
    go to your heart
    nor success
    to your head

Tried to teach my son this one all his life - I think he's learned it for the most part. Thanks for reminding me of it. God this stuff is so good!

    The fear of the Lord
    is the beginining
    of wisdom

This one I don't get...why must there be fear?

Others may have their interpretations as to the use of the term 'fear,' but I believe that 'fear' connotes 'ultimate respect.' Respect on steroids, perfect respect. So much respect that you actually tremble in its presence. Just imagine, God sits down next to you. I expect that you might be a little intimidated. Don't you?
