We have a rather unusual dish that I try to make a couple of times a year, it's called Gunk. I came up with Gunk when the girls hit their teenage years and the favorite whine was there nothing around here to eat. Gunk consists of at least one whole chicken cooked in loads of broth,
onions, green peppers, celery and spices. After the chicken is cooked and the bones are removed the gunk is put into the fridge. Each person has their own favorite use for gunk, Joshua like it with rice, Ariel loves it as chicken noodle soup with extra broth. You just take some out and add whatever suits you and eat. Simple healthy meal fairly fast. One of the kids brought company home one afternoon and they were looking for something to eat, She told her friend, I dont know what this gunk is but it's good! The name stuck.
