I admit I like poetry. I write some. My wife is a better poet. She writes more. Truthfully, she is a better everything than me except a lawyer. We are both lawyers. I am better there. Anyway, to start this off, if it doesn't just die, this is my poem, and one of my favorites period, Menieres notwithstanding, by Stephen Crane (author of "Red Badge of Courage," "The Open Boat," other prose works of note.) It's called "In the Desert": "In the desert I saw a creature, naked, bestial, Who, squatting upon the ground, Held his heart in his hands, And ate of it. I said, “Is it good, friend?” “It is bitter—bitter,” he answered; “But I like it “Because it is bitter, “And because it is my heart.”
