~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's Christmas time, and in the spirit of Christmas, I always post my open Christmas letter to my grandchildren, "My Five Little Golden Heart's." :-* ~~ My Five Little Golden Hearts ~~~ ‘Twas the night before Christmas as I sat before my tree Five golden hearts are hanging there they were placed on the tree by me As I look upon the five gold hearts a special meaning they all have A name and date are written there on each heart with loving care I hung the hearts upon my tree gold color they shine so bright I sit and sing to all the hearts for this is Christmas Eve night The birth of baby Jesus is what Christmas is all about And we celebrate in many ways with laughter song and shouts As I look upon my Christmas tree I sing “Silent Night” with love And thank my Heavenly Father for Jesus and the five gold hearts above You see it’s not the tree that counts that we decorate each year It’s just a way of showing what we hold in our hearts so dear I touch each little heart of gold and say a little prayer I trust that God will let you know on my tree and in my heart you’re there So Happy Birthday to my “Jesus” for this day is a special day To celebrate and show our love as we should do everyday The gold colored hearts upon my tree a date and name they bear They represent my grandchildren and their parents for whom I care They may not stand before me on this eve of Christmas night But they are on my Christmas tree and in my heart I hold them tight So hang “My Little Golden Hearts” upon my Christmas tree And listen when I sing to you for in my heart you’ll always be It fills my heart with happiness to see you hanging on my tree I ask God to take a message to you of Merry Christmas and lots of love from me It’s Brittney, Lindsay and little Trey, James and little Stephanie too That each little golden heart represents and their parents whom I love so Shine on “My Five Little Golden Hearts” that’s what you are to me And every year from this year on you’ll be on my Christmas tree I’ll always keep you in my heart as Christmas fades away Then I’ll place “My Five Little Golden Hearts”on my mantle to see each day Next year when Christmas time is here and I place you on my tree You may not stand before me but you’ll spend Christmas time with me Merry Christmas “My Five Little Golden Hearts” for this year and years to come And know that every Christmas on my tree my hearts are hung. With all my love always, your Grandmama! :-* December 1999. By: Gloria S. Castor Copyright ©1999 Gloria S. Castor..... ~~Wishing You All A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year~~~
Every year I think of your 5 golden hearts and hope for you that you might see the owners of those hearts more often. I will see 4 of my 5 grandchildren here on Christmas day. The fifth one lives in far away New Zealand and wants to come next year to have white christmas. Well, they should have come now. It is so seldom to have a real white christmas and now we are having one. She might miss out on the snow, which for her is something she only can see on the tops of the mountains. And then it has to be wintertime, and they are in summertime now. Not a real summer though, it is cold and wet and they wonder what global warming is all about. New Zealand certainly does not see a warming up of the world. They are close to the Ant-Arctic (not as close as we are to the North Pole), but between their country and the Ant-Arctic there are no countries anymore. So when the wind turns to the South it gets really cold as no other countries will take the most of the temperature off. We are still having Denmark, Sweden and Norway between us and the North Pole. And have the warm sea stream going past our country. Makes a real difference! Thank you Sami for printing out your "five golden hearts" again. I can relate to it so much! Love to you and have a nice Christmas and my best wishes for the New Year. Marian
Ahhhhh....there it is! I've been waiting for 'My Five Little Golden Hearts"!!!!! Love you, Sami...... :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Hi All..... :-* Well Christmas has come and gone...but I still feel the spirit of Christmas in my heart...and speaking of HEARTS.....which this is what this thread is all about...and it has such meaning to me...as some of you know...and I spent much time with ALL of MY Five Little Golden Hearts during Christmas. They are all not so little now...but they are and always will be...My Five Little Golden Hearts. They all love this poem and now that they are older...and understand it's meaning...well let's just say that this year they were all given a Cyrstal Cross and a copy of the poem as a gift from their Grandmama. They all said...mine will be framed and always sit on my dresser with my beautiful crystal cross. I think they got them meaning this year...LOL!!! They see the golden hearts with their pictures in it... and their names and birth date are on are on the hearts...and will be on my tree every Christmas and will hang on the mantle during the year. They all love that. In fact the first granddaughter...Brittney made my hubby and I Great-Grandparents in August 2008...and so the love moves on into another generation now. Thank you so much for your kind replies. Most of you have read this for many years...and you still post a reply...and I thank you for that. Many thanks to: Carolyn33..... Linda..... JanetC Marian..... deercharmer..... Jill..... Many,many thanks and blessings to you all..... :-* Love and hugs..... Sami..... :-*
