OCTOBER 18

Come near to God and he will come near to you. James 4:8

Set aside the distractions and focus on the most important thing in your life.....your relationship with God.

 

From LASB" "How can you draw near to God?" James gives five ways:
1. Submit to God.
2. Resist the devil.
3. Cleanse your hands... and purify your hearts.
4. Be miserable and mourn and weak in sincere sorrow for your sins.
5. Humble yourself in the presence of the Lord.

James 4:8 It is one of those wake up verses, when we don't feel God in our lives this verse says it all.

 

OCTOBER 19

When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. John 16:13

Christians: Never forget God's Holy Spirit dwells in you. He is your teacher.

You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion....abundant in mercy and truth. Psalm 86:15

God calls us to have compassion on others, for His sake--to suffer with them, and to poin them to the One who suffered FOR them.

Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior. Philippians 3:20

No matter what our hardships in this world are today.....we have the hope of tomorrow......with Jesus

NOVEMBER 1

The Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romand 8:26

Sometimes things are so bad or so confusing that we don't know what or how to pray. Turn to God. He knows your heart. He knows your every need. God's Holy Spirit resides in believers.

 

Thank you, Kim, for that verse. Sometimes when I don't know what to pray, I pray in my prayer language. Other times, I can only moan or sigh, His presence is so strong.

 

Cathy, I never realized it was possible to pray in the Spirit until I met my husband. It's truly a very powerful weapon against attack.
