I have learned that I can be inspired by the limitations of this illness.

I have learned that people from all over the world can connect here and care about each other.

    I have found shelter here.

I have found many friends here.

    I find encouragement here.

I come here when I am feeling low, feeling up, feeling flat, feeling bumpy. Other than my HOME, this is the one place I try to come to EVERY DAY.

I consider this website to be a DAILY VITAMIN.

I learned that "Googling" acoustic neuromas isn't a very good idea and that when I PANICED about what I discovered (how they get them OUT if you do have them)-- literally LEGIONS of people reached out with virtual sedatives and calming support.

Like Garden Fish, I have found incredible creative inspiration here. AND encouragement! I have found that I LOVE to share things I've made or written with this community.

I have found that I carry many of you with me during my daily adventures. I love how so many of you come to mind during the day as I encounter birds or a bear or a plant (The Pardon Me daylily!), a kid's baseball glove (who could that be I wonder?), fish, turtles... COWS...

    Soup, aprons, Georgia peaches...

I have found support and helpful information in coping with an illness that is largely misunderstood, misdiagnosed, isolating, frightening, sometimes all-encompassng and NASTY.

I have discovered that virtual hugs are warm and wonderful.

I have found an oasis in an ocean of confusion.

I found that I didn't really have MM and began to question my original diagnosis!

I have helped others in their questions and offered insight!

I have made a few friends that I respect and cherish!

I have been able to vent about things that are going on with me in the way I choose to!

Relieves my boredom when I am stuck here all alone!

Been cheered up when I was down!

I've learned that I can be a nasty person and that I am not apologizing because there is no excuse.

at the same time, I've learned that I can be a very nice person who I fight with everyday to let out.

I've learned that Menieres S**** but I was never alone once I found Org.

I've learned that some of my BEST friends live the farthest away from me, while some are right here in my own state.

I've learned to have fun again. (very important)
I've learned to laugh again. (most important)

I've learned that its ok to be scared. We all are or have been at one point or another.

I've learned not to trust anyone. (strange because...I DO say that with love.)

I've learned so much about Menieres and vestibular crap that I could probably write a book!

I've watched a house being built from pictures and descriptions!

But most important to me is, that I have a place to come and vent. I have a place where I come when bored. I have a place to come to when I am feeling down. I have a place to come just to have fun.
I do have friends here that understand me not just my illness.

I make mistakes just like anyone else. But I try not to. I've learned from the past.

I've learned that just a simple PM to say hi...means all the world to me.

    I've learned that I don't like Marmite! ;D ;D ;D

I have learned how to go for a "spin" without my bike ;D

On a more practical note, participation in all rooms of this forum has given me more support and insight into positive ways of living and coping with my vestibular challenges than I have received anywhere else. Just being able to correspond with people who have been through it makes what I am experiencing easier to bear. You have all made a world of difference in my life. For that you have my gratitude. Thank you!

I love to come here because it is a way that I can relate to others who have mm/mav.
It lifts my spirits to read stories of how others are working and leading positive lives and gives me inspiration that I can do this too in time.
That we are all human and have different experiences and reactions to this disease.
That I have learned so much information from this site than a doctor's office..the so called specialists!!!
One can always count on a good word and encouragement when you are down.

Just know that I enjoy coming here and in the beginning of all this it was my thread of hope even in times of great challenge. I pray everynight for all you! I am glad there is a mm home to visit.

    Hi Lisa,

I believe that good coming from bad is universal; however one needs to be open to seeing the good, relationships included.

Knowing there is a place to come to that is a home to people just like me in so many ways. And learning how to adjust to a different lifestyle with guidance from these good people who actually have supported me a lot more than my friends/family.

Learning i am not alone....Thanks to ALL! ;D

I have learned that there are as many variations of MM as there are people who have MM.
I feel that this forum is my support group even though I don't post very often. The last thing I do before I go to bed is check this site.
I have learned something about hearing and hearing aids.
I have learned that there is hope and many posters set a good example.

I have learned to be more compassinate and less judgemental

I have learned to not sweat the small stuff (thank you Joyce!)

I have learned that some of the best people and friends are ones that I have never met

I have learned that someone is always here for me no matter what, you are my soft shoulder to cry on

I have learned that I really can't spell for beans anymore, but no one seems to care

Thanks Ray for this site and its ability to teach us all the important things in life

    I have learned:

That brainfog and other cognitive problems are normal.

    That I am not crazy.

That being pro-active instead of re-active can go along way in controlling anxiety.

That ear plugs are a must (for me).

That a message board can be a close knit community full of caring people.

Gwendelyn, you mentioned a big one, that folks are not crazy. Over the years I have read countless post wherein the writer thought he or she was crazy, made so by the disease. Thank you for the reminder that it is the disease and not me that is crazy.
