I have another family, and they understand better than my blood family.

I have friends all over the world.

I have learned that above all things I'M NOT ALONE.

I have a second family that understands

and There is always hope. If someone else can make is so can I!

+++ I've had the results of tests explained, the purpose for the tests, and the vestibular system analyzed in layman's terminology (thanks, Joe)

++ I credit my SSD award to the database back in the days before the crash (thanks, Dizzjo)

++ I've received the empathy of others, not just sympathy

++++ I find hope everytime I visit (I visit far more often than I post) and look for familiar "posters".

i have learned new approaches to healing: among them, trigger point therapy from mnme and pardonme, and diet information from rick and charleston. these have been very important elements in my progress towards better health.

I have learned that most Canadians are good people.

I have learned that Santa runs a Meniere's Forum and has a short fuse.

I have made many new friends, some who even really have Meniere's

I have learned to give opinions rather than advice or I might need a good lawyer

I have learned that in Australia they spell Greg as "Gerg"

I have learned to check in every once in a while rather than camp out for reasons of sanity

I have learned to have hope.

The fact that when you reach out to others you are enriched as well.
Something I knew before, but really reinforced here.

That I really can "live with it"--we all are.

During my dark depression in the fall this forum was a light for me. I would come here every day for inspiration and there it was!

That the internet is a wonderful miracle that people with a relatively rare disease care share and support one another.

I get more info here than from my dr. I have a "not so good" memory and no matter how many times I may ask the same question everyone is patient & someone always gives me an answer.

I have learned that there is strength in numbers-- the more support we have from each other--the stronger we all become.

I have learned that some of my best friends on Earth can be people I have never met in person, that friendship develops because of love and support... and I've learned the incredible joy of what it's like to meet some of those friends in person and then I've learned how painful it is when I have to say bye to them as they drive off in their car or board the airplane.

I've learned how important it is, when having a chronic affliction to know that there are people out there that truly do understand.

I am okay precisely the way I am. There has always been someone here to scrape me off the floor, someone to encourage me and kick me in the ass when necessary.

That there is always someone here who will be nice to me.
That someone from half across the world will answer my despair in less than a minute a lot
That there is always something new to try to make me feel physically better
