Canadians, question

    Same sex or otherwise - my former partner I lived with for 13 years. We were not married officially but living in a defacto relationship which is recognised by law here as if we were married.

    My Canadian opinion is ...

    A partner can mean anything. :)

    Most married people here would say husband or wife. Gays and those of us that are common law would say partner. But everyone is different.

    Thanks. It is just not used ata ll where I live. I might say 'significant other'.
