stampede through your mind
kicking up memory dirt
leaving a storm behind

you want to stop the movement
that takes hold of your brain
you want to live in silence
yet the pounding hooves remain

the anger and fear are alive
they fill up all your space
yet you pretend you are a hero
when the world sees your face
